There were emotional outbreaks and sentimental statements from the Indian citizens following the Uri attack, and everyone was targeting the government and pressuring it for action.
Meanwhile, India’s political and security personnel were busy making strategies for an operation which came up as a surgical military operation on the night of 28th September.
This was not a plan of overnight taken in anger or out of sentiments, but it was a well measured and fully planned operation that was both diplomatically and politically perfect.
Although many characters have played an important role in the military operation but here we are introducing those to you who were at the driving seat of the surprise military operation.
Ajit Doval is the National Security Advisor of India and he is quite famous for his ability to execute secret missions. The credit of building strategy for the India’s surgical strike goes to him. He had drawn the whole road map for how the forces will enter into Pakistan and how the whole surgical operation has to be carried out. He was also the mastermind in the India’s previous surgical military strike in Myanmar in 2015 against the terrorists. He has spent over 6 years in Pakistan as an undercover agent and knows the Pakistan to its very deep. He has also been honored with Kirti Chakra.
India’s Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar has played a major role in the accomplishment of India’s military operation. That whole night he was constantly monitoring the forces and giving instructions to the in-charges and was frequently taking live reports of the mission. His calm behavior and an enigmatic personality don’t give a clue of what’s going inside him.
Gen. Ranbir Singh
India’s DGMO (Director General of Military Operations) Lt. Gen. Ranbir Singh is the man who led this whole operation from on the Military part. He was continuously reporting the situation at the various operation points to Manohar Parrikar and Ajit Doval. Ranbir Singh stated that “The terrorists who have been killed during this operation were ready with plans to attack India and therefore we collected information about these terrorist camps and prepared a plan of military operation.
5. Rajinder Khanna
Rajinder Khanna is a previous IPS officer, who was afterwards transferred to the RAS (Research and Analysis Service), and further in 2014 became the head of the Indian Secret Service – the ‘RAW’. He has led many anti terrorist missions and has served many responsibilities of the secret agency. It is said that he has also done spying in several countries. Unfortunately he is retiring in December as his tenure is going to end.
6. Dalbir Singh Suhag
A major chunk of this success can be attributed to our Army Chief Dalbir Singh Suhag, who monitored the entire operation from the Army headquarters at New Delhi on Wednesday night. He is the army General of India and he is the third generation of his family serving in Indian Army. His father had been a Subedar Major.
Alongside Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, our Army Chief General Dalbir Singh Suhag monitored the entire operation in real time, receiving footage from the helmet cameras as well as a drone.
In a country like India, where political power is the greatest power, such operations are impossible without a powerful back-end support from the government. PM Narendra Modi has played a leading role in this surgical operation by India who at his strong will led the army to perform this military operation. He was in regular meetings with the army leads and the security experts while the plan was under development.
